about competition

Wednesday, August 23rd, 2006

the higher you climb
the greater the pressure.

those who manage to
endure
learn
that the distance
between the
top and the
bottom
is
obscenely
great.

and those who
succeed
know
this secret:
there isn’t
one.

Justice & Mercy

Wednesday, August 10th, 2005

A reply I just recieved from a fellow Mustanger concerning my new career path:

Shannon,

I wish you God’s wisdom and His sense of the justice / mercy balance as you begin your new adventure. I expect you’ll do very well. Please keep us posted on your progress. If you decide on corporate law, consider Mustang as a client. In any case, I hope our paths cross again.

Something my project manager said yesterday about the current market environment:

We cannot stay in business by working hard, we must work smarter than the competition to survive.

Here Is A Reason I Love Mustang Engineering

    Monday, February 14th, 2005

Our 4th Quarter 2004 update/memo ended like this:

Mustang Engineering LogoWhen you go home tonight, hug your spouse, your kids, and thank God for what you have. Life is short, and its not all about the money. We anticipate a good year in 2005, and there will be some difficult days ahead where much will be asked of you. Make sure you have your relationships in good standing at home before you work horrendous hours. We’ll work to keep it reasonable, but nobody should be stressed beyond their healthy limit such that their relationships at home are affected. You won’t find much happiness in chasing the almighty dollar if your family is destroyed in the process. Visualize the best person you’ve ever known, and be that person for those whose love you cherish. Thanks for all the prayers, we’re seeing them answered in a big way. So don’t stop now! And BE SAFE out there.

    Mustang Engineering Update:

Last fall (2003) I was working on the safety system for an off shore project called Thunder Horse.  Below are a couple pictures fresh from Korea, the record breaking deep sea platform has been built & is on its way to the Gulf of Mexico.

Rumor has it this puppy will have to come around South Africa to get here.  Too big for the canal!
